Atlanta Trip
Sam & I and our friend, Brant, went to Atlanta this weekend and had a great time. We stayed with my mom and my best friend Loren met us there to spend the weekend too.
The guys were pretty absorbed in football all weekend. They went to Fanfare Saturday morning and then on to the Georgia Dome for the SEC Championship game (Florida-Arkansas). Brant is from Arkansas and is a huge Razorback fan so he was in "Hog" heaven the entire time. One of our customers, who gave us the tickets, met Sam and Brant at the pre party to hang out before the game. Brant actually ran into some of his best friends from Arkansas before the game that he hadn't seen in years. It's really a small world.
Loren and I had a great time together too. We never see each other so we spent most of our time catching up on each other's lives. Loren's grandparents also live in Atlanta so we spent most of the day Saturday with them. Her grandfather gave us a grand tour of his business near downtown Atlanta. He is the owner/founder of a restuarant supply business. There were way too many things there to mention but it was amazing to see how it all works. When we left the warehouse, "Popsie" showed us the recording studios that are across the street from his building and also showed us where some movies had been filmed on the same street. As we were leaving we had a perfect view on the Atlanta skyline. We finished up the evening at a Japanese restaurant with Loren's grandparents and uncles (and their families).
Even though I am glad I don't call Atlanta home anymore, I absolutely love visiting there!
I was able to show Loren where I worked when I lived in Atlanta over the weekend but for the most part we had a great time doing a lot of nothing. My mom has archives of pictures and old Walking Horse Reports in her basement so we spent a lot of time looking through all of that and laughing until our stomachs hurt. It seems like we had forgotten about many things that had happened throughout our lives, but it was so much fun being reminded.
