Ultrasound Photos
Today I went to have an ultrasound for Baby Mac and was amazed at everthing I was able to see. Sam had wanted to go, but had to leave for Kentucky this morning so he could not make it. He asked me to have it videotaped but unfortunately that was not allowed. Until today, this has felt like a whirlwind. Since this pregnancy was a total surprise, the news really had not sunk in with me until I saw this precious little baby on the monitor today. I did not have high expectations going into the appointment because, most of the time, I cannot tell which end is up in ultrasound photos. The moment I saw this little one on the screen, I knew exactly what was in front of me. I saw it's heartbeat and it moved around so much! There were many times when I was able to see all 4 limbs at the same time...and the little legs were kicking! My first instincts were...wow, this is definitely real and how wonderful! And secondly...I kept referring to it as "he". I think it's a boy!
So here are some highlights from the appointment today-
My stats were good. My blood pressure was a little low...98/60, but apparently that was OK. My weight had not changed at all since my last appointment on 3/28/08. The doctor explained how the ultrasound procedure worked. I asked if the due date would be approximate or actual, and I was told that it is usually right on the nose. The ultrasound measured the baby...he/she is about an inch long right now. It's measurements predicted November 18th as the day of arrival, and its heartbeat was 175.
Lately I have had quite a bit of morning sickness...except my morning sickness is like all day sickness. Yesterday and today have been my best days so far. Last weekend I went shopping and bought some little boy things...since I have such a strong feeling it's a boy. (It's all returnable, just in case!) Sam came home and saw everything and said..."What's with all the boy stuff? What about little girl stuff?" A lot of times I refer to the baby as "he" and Sam catches me every time. He really believes it's a girl. Either way I am happy!
Well that's about it for now. I will keep you posted on our progress.
Love,
Sam, Jenny, and Baby Mac
